The Minutes of the Wannsee Protocol
A group of leading Nazi officials involved with the implementation of measure involving Jews came together at a villa ourside Berlin to plan the murder of the Jews of Europe. The Wannsee Conference lasted a mere hour. It approved the programme to kill the approximately 11 million Jews living in Europe, breaking the numbers into Jewish populations country by country.

Israel’s remembrance authority. Huge archive of resources, especially good for primary source materials.

Documentaries and mini-series

Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution, BBC Written by Laurence Rees, containing new research and perspectives on the Holocaust. Combines rare footage with CGI illustrations and dramatic reconstructions.

Nazis – A Warning from History, Ian Kershaw, BBC Documentary on the rise and fall of the Third Reich. Kershaw focuses on ordinary German’s and Europeans as collaborators and bystanders

Band of Brothers, Steven Spielberg, Episode 9 - Dramatised take on American soldiers liberating concentration camps. To be used in context.

The Power of Good – Nicholas Winton documentary about the remarkable story of a rescuer of Jewish children. Lots of web resources but only clips from the documentary online at this stage

Shoah, Claude Lanzmann, Film A 1985 film where director Lanzmann interviews people who were involved in various ways in the Holocaust, and visits the different places they discuss. Running time: 9 hours.
