Holocaust Centre of NZ (HCNZ) Thanks Race Relations Comissioner for Speaking Out Against Holocaust Denial

New Zealand is fortunate to have a Race Relations Commissioner who speaks out forcefully when there are blatant eruptions of race hatred, the chairman of the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand Jeremy Smith said today.

“We have thanked Dame Susan Devoy for calling out the Iranian diplomat and Imam who spoke Holocaust denial and antisemitism in an Auckland mosque.

“We condemn the use of a place of worship to broadcast such lies.

“The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand is dedicated to educating New Zealanders about the horrors of the Holocaust and how we can all work to prevent such things happening again. Race hatred should never be allowed in this country.

“We are suggesting an education session about the Holocaust for the members of the Auckland mosque,” Mr Smith concluded.
